These terms cover candles, diffusers, sprays, and wick trimmers sold by Cinder Moss at 71 Market Street, Portland, Maine 04101. They also cover the use of this website. The desk is desk@cindermoss.shop and (207) 555-0133.

The sale

Prices are the prices on the vessel or the tray: $28 for an 8 oz tumbler, $38 for a 12 oz jar, $26 for a beeswax pillar, $36 for a 4 oz reed diffuser, $22 for a 2 oz spray, $18 for a brass wick trimmer. Maine sales tax is added at the counter where it applies. Cash and common cards are accepted during posted hours. We do not ship glass, reeds, or trimmers. If a price on the site and a price on the tape ever disagree, the tape in the room is the sale.

Holds

Call the desk and we can hold a labeled jar or diffuser until the coming Sunday. After that it returns to the shelf. We do not hold past a Monday closure into a second week unless we have said so on the phone. An unpaid hold is a courtesy, not a sale.

Returns

An unburned candle, an unused diffuser, an unused spray, or an unused trimmer may be brought back within fourteen days with the receipt. We exchange the item or return the payment in the room. A burned wick, a used reed, or a sprayed bottle ends the sale. We do not mail refunds and we do not replace broken glass that left the shop in one piece. If a Cinder Moss jar arrived cracked, bring it back before it is burned and we will replace it.

The flame

Burn on a level surface that will not catch. Keep the flame away from cloth, vents, and any window that drafts. Do not leave it lit in an empty room. Trim the cotton to 6 mm before every lighting. Stop when about 12 mm of wax remains so the vessel does not overheat. Keep the flame out of reach. A diffuser oil will mark bare wood; set the bottle on a tile. These are conditions of sale. They are not a promise that a flame is safe if they are ignored, and they are not a repair offer for ceilings already stained.

Wick trim at the counter is free for our own candles. We do not cut other makers’ wax and we do not fit wicks to blends we did not pour.

The text and the mark on this site belong to Cinder Moss. You may read them and share a link. You may not copy the pages onto another shop’s site. Hours on the site are the standing hours. Storm closures are not posted here. Call before you travel in bad weather. The note form does not create an order and does not, by itself, reach the desk. Nothing on the site is a warranty beyond the return rule above.
